Welcome to Mrs. Schwartz's English classroom website!
I look forward to our year together in room 218 whether that's in English 10 Honors or AP 12 English Lit. In this room I promise never to spoon feed you. I promise always to be fair. I promise to always force you to do your own thinking (and your own work). I promise to respect all opinions, beliefs and personalities, but I ask that you too do the same for me and for one another - to listen thoughtfully, to behave respectfully and to be independent. Within an advanced classroom we tackle and challenge weighty world issues, cultural barriers, personal strengths and weaknesses. We are able to do so because this room values all input, welcomes all insight and examines all points of view. Every day is a good day for lively, thought-provoking discussion!
May the Schwartz be with you!
All grades are reading Uglies. In addition to this book, AP 12 Literature students must also read Life of Pi, whereas Honors 10 students must also read Warriors Don't Cry by Melba Beals.. To the right is the file for summer reading project options for Uglies. There are no project assignments on Life of Pi or Warriors. These novels, related tests, projects, etc., will be addressed during the school year.
